Description
Witnessing this incredibly unique power of nature was something I will never forget. This was taken at the Great Salt Lake in Northern Utah, USA on the causeway to Antelope Island State Park.
During the winter, fresh water enters from the Jordan River and freezes over top of the saltier water of the Great Salt Lake. High winds caused the ice to break apart and push toward the edge of the lake with such force it pushed it many feet ashore creating stacks of ice.
This was taken the week of Christmas with one of the more spectacular sunsets I've seen in the winter. The combined elements of nature in this one scene was breathtaking.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. ― John Lubbock CONGRATULATIONS ON SALE!
